Update from Zurich

Well it’s day number… well, I have no idea what day of the trip it really is.  It’s all been so full of activity and traveling it very well could be a week later and I would hardly know it.

Our internet connections are few and far between so I don’t get to connect much, and all my photos are on my camera at the moment, so I don’t have any photos to put up right now, but I can give you the basic play by play.

After 3 days in Amsterdam riding our bikes around the city (and through the awesome Vondel park), admiring the amazing architecture, a day trip to The Haag to see the M.C. Escher museum, and spending a lot of time just enjoying being there, we took an overnight train to Zurich.

Only spending enough time in Zurich to drop our bags off, we hopped on another train, and a bus, and then another train to get to Gruier (or something spelled relatively like that).  The tiny mountain town had very little in it… Except for the amazing cheese, the kick-ass castle, oh, and the H.R. Giger museum which completely melted my face off.  After most of the day there, we got on the same train, bus, train and came back to Zurich for the night.

Tomorrow we hop on the 9 o’clock train to Munich to get to our hostel and then out into the big, bad, Octoberfest.

Who knows when I’ll be able to update again, but I’ll do my best. Hopefully soon I can do more photos as well.

Amsterdam, day 1

The first day in Amsterdam we had all just spent a whole day travelling and had to start the day with basically no sleep.

Amazingly this was the view from our hotel room at the Hilton

that Dweezil got with his hotel points.

Immediately after we got to the hotel we went straight out and started seeing the city. First was the Bulldog cafe.

After that it was just a lot of stuff one after the other.

Well, I’d post more if this stupid site had a built in rotate photo feature, but it doesn’t, so I won’t.

What I’ve noticed is that everyone here is just chill.  Except for when you’re on a bike.  Travelling here is serious business.

And I’m off.

Tic-toc

Well, I’m at the airport waiting to board flight #1 to Cincinatti. After that is a short wait and a long ass flight to the one and only Amsterdam.
Until then it’s trail mix, a big book, and a lot of music for me. More later from Ohio.
